About this game
qulqy is a Game Boy Color and original Game Boy adaptation of the 1995 Windows puzzle game Kulki. You move one ball at a time across the grid and try to form horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines of at least five matching pieces.
A successful line clears those balls and adds to the score. A move that clears nothing adds three random balls, steadily reducing the available space until no legal move remains. Easy, Sane, and Hard modes change the number of colors and the points earned per ball, while an optional hint carries a score penalty.
The game supports cursor movement with the D-pad, selection with A, hints with B, a new game from Start, and alternate ball shapes with Select. It was made with GBDK-2020 and released for the 2025 Game Boy Competition.
