About this game
Libbet and the Magic Floor is a Game Boy puzzle game by Damian Yerrick, based on Martin Korth's Magic Floor concept. Libbet discovers a hidden hall beneath her basement where every tile belongs to one of four shades. Movement is governed by the floor pattern rather than by walls: she may travel between tiles of the same shade, step to the next brighter shade, or move from white back to black. Each valid move leaves a visible track behind.
A floor is completed by drawing at least ninety percent of its possible tracks and then reaching the exit. That goal turns a small board into a route-planning problem. A move that is legal now may make the remaining edges awkward to reach later, while rushing toward the exit can leave too much of the floor untouched. Tiles without exits act as trap doors and return Libbet to the entrance, so reading the local pattern before moving is safer than testing every direction.
Libbet can roll one tile with the Control Pad or jump by holding the A button with a direction. A jump changes how quickly she crosses a section and supports several achievement challenges, but it does not remove the need to follow the shade rules. The game records accomplishments for complete coverage, continuous movement, fast exits, and other clean solutions. These goals give solved floors a second purpose: once the basic route is understood, players can return and attempt a more deliberate performance.
For a first attempt, move slowly around the outer edges and watch which tracks appear after each step. Avoid entering a dead-end tile until you know whether it is part of the required route. When the board is nearly complete, pause before using the exit and scan for isolated gaps in the trail. Jumps are most useful after the normal rolling path is familiar; adding them too early makes it harder to remember which connections have already been covered. The compact rules, readable trail, and optional achievement goals make Libbet a good fit for short browser sessions without reducing it to a reflex game.

Quick tips
Trace the outer edges first and check the remaining gaps before entering the exit; finishing too early can leave the board below ninety percent.
A tile with no valid exits is a trap door, so inspect the surrounding shades before rolling onto an isolated square.
Hold X with a direction to jump after you understand the normal route; jumps are useful for achievement attempts but can make planning harder.
